Today we are looking at how to install OpenOffice on Ubuntu 18.04.
I will start with the bad news first, LibreOffice and OpenOffice can't be on the same system, I guess they both need the same libraries or dependencies and they can't share it.
The good news is that OpenOffice is still being supported, the last release was on the 18th of November 2018, at the time of making this video and blog.
So, in this video, we first look at how to remove LibreOffice and then how to download and install it on your system. Enjoy!
Commands Used:
1) remove LibreOffice:
sudo apt purge libreoffice*
2) install OpenOffice:
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
