Today we are looking at how to integrate any appimage in KDE Neon 18.04. Appimages are powerfull tools as it is standalone programs with everything the app needs to run in a native environment. I use appimages every day! Below you will find the instructions below to integrate appimages into KDE Plasma as shown in the video. I used KDE Neon in the video but it should work in any KDE distro.
1) Download any appimage and make it executable
for example: Kdenlive 18.12 Beta
2) Move the installation to a place where all users on the system can access it
sudo mv name_of_appimage.AppImage /opt/
3) Add the app (a reboot might be required)
4) Find Icon in System Icons or Download Your Own PNG one.
/var/lib/app-info/icons/ubuntu-bionic-universe/64x64/
5) Set command
/opt/name_of_appimage
