How to install Pesterchum on a Chromebook


Today we are looking at how to install Pesterchum on a Chromebook.  Please follow the video/audio guide as a tutorial where we explain the process step by step and use the commands below.

This tutorial will only work on Chromebooks with an Intel or AMD CPU (with Linux Apps Support) and not those with an ARM64 architecture CPU.

Commands Used:
1) sudo apt update
2) sudo apt install python3-gi gobject-introspection gir1.2-gtk-3.0 python3 python3-pip build-essential libssl-dev libffi-dev python3-dev
3) wget https://github.com/Dpeta/pesterchum-alt-servers/releases/download/v2.1.3.1/PesterchumAlt.-2.1.3.1-linux64-glibc2.27.zip
4) unzip PesterchumAlt.-2.1.3.1-linux64-glibc2.27.zip
5) chmod 755 Pesterchum/Pesterchum
6) ./Pesterchum/Pesterchum
7) sudo apt install menulibre
8) menulibre

Update: with the release of Chrome OS 96, the Linux container on a Chromebook has been upgraded to a newer version.  This tutorial still works exactly as in the video, but it is no longer needed to apply the setting in Google Chrome as in the beginning of the video.
